Some experts think so. They wrote that “the current administration’s actions, along with congressional inaction, have increased costs for farm inputs, disrupted overseas and domestic markets, denied agriculture its reliable labor pool, and defunded critical ag research and staffing,”
Symbiotic nitrogen fixation, the focus of most of my research, may eventually help with the cost of one key input, but US agriculture is facing multiple self-imposed problems. This hurts the minority of Americans who are most connected to the farm economy, but also anyone who is already having trouble paying for food.
